Talking "about" or "against" Christianity?

On April 9, the Air Force Academy is holding a closed-door lecture for cadets on what appears on the surface to be a talk about religious tolerance (one of the speakers is separation-of-church-and-state crusader Mike Weinstein). But then you read this Gazette story about the talk... particularly near the end . . . and one wonders what is really going to be discussed at the lecture.

(Weinstein) said the sessions will include clips from "Constantine's Sword," a movie that debuts April 18. Much of the film was shot at the academy and in Colorado Springs. It is based on a book by James Carroll about religious intolerance, with a focus on "Christian antisemitism as the model for all religious hatred," according to the movie's Web site.

As expected, the Catholic League has something to say on "Constantine's Sword."

The Herald is trying to get into the event but has been told it's closed to all media and the public. It hardly sounds like this is going to be a balanced discussion of the relationship between church and state or of religious tolerance. It sounds more like a slam against Christianity and its deep impact on the world.
