Headlines from Down Under

This is a feature I'll try to do once a day when I post... here are some front-page headlines from local newspapers. So far, the coverage as been positive:

Monday, June 14 (Day after pope's arrival)
THE SYDNEY MORNING HERALD -- "Help save the world, Sydney" (smaller header: "The pope touches down with a message"

THE AUSTRALIAN -- "Pope to relight the fire of faith" (subhead: "Benedict's World Youth Day mission to bring hope to a nation").

Tuesday, June 15 (Official opening day for World Youth Day)
THE DAILY TELEGRAPH -- "A joyful cross to bear" (referring to arrival of World Youth Day cross to Sydney). Inside are two large stories about the cross' journey as well as the positive impression Benedict is making on locals with his knowledge of Australia.

THE AUSTRALIAN -- "Papal reflection as the masses gather."

THE SYDNEY MORNING HERALD -- "Populate or perish: Climate sceptic Pell dilutes Pope's green gospel."
