Who are the Gospel voices of these troubled times?
Just had a very interesting conversation with someone about how, when times get tough, there usually is a voice to rally behind who keeps us focused on Christ and the Gospel. I'm not comparing our current turbulent situation to El Salvador's bloody civil war in 1980s, but am mentioning it in the context that they had Archbishop Romero's voice rise up as a source of hope and justice during very troubled times. It raised the question, who are the Romero-like voices out there today for U.S. Catholics? I thought it a question worth posing to you.
