Penrose-St. Francis to hold retreat for those affected by cancer
Penrose-St. Francis Health Services will host a retreat at Mount St. Francis on Saturday for cancer patients, survivors and caregivers. Below is the press release in its entirety.
RETREAT FOR CANCER PATIENTS, SURVIVORS, CAREGIVERS
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. –Penrose-St. Francis Health Services is hosting a free day of renewal for cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers.
Anyone whose life is affected by cancer is invited to “Nurturing Your Spirit for Health and Wholeness,” Saturday, May 2 from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at Mt. St. Francis Retreat Center, 7740 Deer Hill Grove.
This free event includes a continental breakfast and lunch, chair massages, presentations and group discussions. Topics include "Laughter is Good Medicine," "Hope, Spirituality and Wellness," "Spirituality: Therapy for the Soul," "The Human Side of Cancer," and "Pathways to Wholeness." The event concludes with a Blessing for the Journey Ceremony.
The program will offer attendees inspirational and experiential ways to better attend to and enliven their spirits. This gently paced retreat offers time for reflection and connection with others on a similar journey.
The retreat is free, but registration is required. The event is co-sponsored by Penrose-St. Francis Health Services Spiritual Care Department and the Penrose Cancer Center.
