The Dallas Morning News has an interesting story on the rise of Caesarean ("C-Section") deliveries by women in affluent areas of the Dallas metroplex.

They're mothers seeking a delivery that's convenient, predictable and quick.

Their detractors say they are choosing vanity over biology.

Elective Caesareans are being presented as another facet of the "choice" movement for women. Some doctors are refusing to perform elective C-sections, while others are preferring them (note the section in the article on malpractice suits).
