Till the cows come home
The Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo takes place July 11-15 at Norris-Penrose Events Center in Colorado Springs. This Saturday the rodeo kicks things off with a parade through the streets of downtown Colorado Springs, complete with a children's dress-up review. Check it out for a good family time.
There's something about the rodeo that brings out the little kid in me.
A couple of other items this weekend:
*** At 7 p.m. Saturday (7/7/07 at 7), there will be a groundbreaking for a proposed church on land donated by the Venetucci family (on the Venetucci farm at 5210 S. U.S. 85/87). The church will combine Holy Family in Security and St. Joseph in Fountain and is going by the tentative name of St. Dominic. You can read about it in the July 20 issue of The Colorado Catholic Herald. Bring a shovel to participate in the groundbreaking.
*** Father Francisco Quezada will be installed as pastor of St. Mary's Cathedral at the 8:45 a.m. Sunday Mass. Read about him here.
